Before a donor is cleared for your family, he completes a structured process designed to give you clear, reliable information. 01
Initial semen evaluation
Blood and semen samples are collected at a LabCorp location. Semen is analysed for motility and morphology, and a full STD panel screens for HIV, Hepatitis B & C and other irregularities. 02
Genetic & mental health assessment
An Invitae saliva test screens 569 genetic mutations, followed by a genetic counseling session on extended family history and a psychological evaluation with our family therapist. 03
Sperm deposit at the clinic
The donor completes the sperm deposit at the fertility clinic over two days, fully coordinated by our team. 04
FDA follow-up & clearance
To comply with FDA regulations, a final STD analysis is completed 3–6 months after the deposit before the donor is cleared. How are sperm donors screened?
Every donor completes a semen analysis and full STD panel, an Invitae genetic test screening 569 mutations, a genetic counseling session on extended family history, a psychological evaluation, and an FDA-required follow-up STD test 3–6 months after the deposit.
How is this different from a traditional sperm bank?
Our donors are hand-selected and exclusively dedicated to your family’s needs. Our team personally coordinates screening, legal steps and communication with your clinic, rather than simply selling vials from a catalogue.
How many times does the donor need to visit the clinic?
The donor first attends a LabCorp appointment for blood and semen samples, then completes the deposit at the fertility clinic. A final visit takes place 3–6 months later to comply with FDA regulations.
